He is closing down the world of hell within us, re-opening the world of souls within us, and opening the kingdom of God within us, not trying to make "us" as "separate from" better within us, rather, He is trying to make "us" as "separate from" end within us, and out work is to join Him in that, not trying to pull Him into what "we", as "separate from" are doing.

Muhaiyaddeen786 [4:11 PM]:

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim.  In the name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.  Al-salam 'alaykum.  Hi. Rumismith.

My love you (anbu) - Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen (Louie Beutler)

Rumismith [4:14 PM]:

Well, well, nice to hear from you.  Anbu, Rumi

Muhaiyaddeen786 [4:15 PM]:

How is your "Hearts Work"?

Rumismith [4:18 PM]:

Hearts work is hard work. I was just reading our last dialogue where you told me: "Give up.  Stop trying. Let go."

[Note: The context for this was, The context for this was,  "Give up to God, to what God is doing within you".  "Stop trying to do it alone, to live as separate from God".  "And let go of the selfish self, and let God replace it with the selfless self" - read the last dialogue in full by clicking on Spiritual Chat 2.]

If I do that all that is happening is eating, sleeping & defecating.  Apart from that, (all the) emotional stuff is clearing through (me) these days, to the point where I had to vomit because it became to heavy for the body.

Muhaiyaddeen786 [4:19 PM]:

Great!  Great!  Great!  Can a dog act like a dog?

2. Learn To Say The Father's Prayer
                                                                                                                        - go to summary
Rumismith [4:22 PM]:

Thank you!  Right now I feel empty and wasted.  Not having a real purpose.  I started saying the prayer again:

"O my Father, O my Shaikh, O my Guru, I need your love,
please,  please, please destroy me, and reveal You."

So this is what I am holding unto now.

[Note - the rest of the "Father's Prayer", that His Holiness has given us, is:

"Destroy me as separate from You, and You as separate from me,
and reveal me as One with You, and You as One with me."

"Destroy the life of separation and differences that You have given me,
and reveal the life of Oneness and Unity, of Justice and Truth, and of
Compassion and Unity, that you have also given me.]

Muhaiyaddeen786 [4:23 PM]:

That is good, very good.  But don't do it alone.  Do it with Bawa.

Rumismith [4:24 PM]:

Yes, thank you. How are you?

Muhaiyaddeen786 [4:25 PM]:

Wonderful, my sweet loving sister Rumi, wonderful.

Rumismith [4:27 PM]:

We miss you here. We ask each other, have you seen or heard from Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen?

Asmael Hackett is in the Hospital.  He had the Gallbladder removed, came home & got a fever and is back in the hospital again with complications.

Muhaiyaddeen786 [4:28 PM]:

Please give him my love and salaams, and ask Him to send me a letter or E-mail, and we can try and get better together.
                                                                                                                        - go to outline
3.  Learn To Properly Use Bawa
                                                                                                                        - go to summary
Muhaiyaddeen786 [4:29 PM]:

Wisdom Point:

A dog can't act like a dog because it is a dog.  Only someone who isn't a dog can act like a dog.  Like this, we need to use Bawa to deal with the world for us.  He can act like He believes in the world because He doesn't believe in the world.  His act will satisfy the world, and it will leave us alone. Yes?

Another Wisdom Point (not in original Chat)

Also, only someone who truly believes in God can pray to God, so we can't do this work either.  So we have to use Bawa to prayer to God for us, because He truly believes in God not in the world, while in truth we truly believe in the world, not in God.

In this way, we must put Bawa between us and the world, and between us and God, allowing Him to properly take care of both sections within us, the left and the right.  Then we will be peaceful.  Read Chapter 3, "The World Within & The World Without", in the book, "The Wisdom of Man", especially page 56 to 60, for more on this.
                                                                                                                        - go to outline
4.  Learn What Bawa Is Doing Within Us And Join Him In That
                                                                                                                        - go to summary
Rumismith [4:30 PM]:

I certainly will do that. Could you please ask Bawa to give me a message (concerning) what he is working on with me.

Muhaiyaddeen786 [4:33 PM]:

Answer: He isn't.  He is doing bigger and better things within you, like closing down the world of hell, re-opening the world of souls, and opening the kingdom of God. This should be your focus also, not on poor little Rumi.

Muhaiyaddeen786 [4:34 PM]:

In this way, we need to join with Him in what He is doing, in His "selfless work", not try to pull Him into what we are doing, into our "selfish work".

If we don't do this, and instead keep focused on our "selfish work", then He has to stop this important work within us, this "selfless work" within us, until we put down our "selfish work", until we realize that our "self-centered work" is of no importance, and put it down, and join Him in His "God-centered work" within us.   Do you understand, my sweet sister Rumi?

Rumismith [4:35 PM]:

Al-hamdu lillah, this is what I need to hear.
                                                                                                                        - go to outline
5.  The Purpose of Our Life
                                                                                                                        - go to summary
Muhaiyaddeen786 [4:35 PM]:

Al-hamdu lillah - a short story follows, if you have time.

Rumismith [4:36 PM]:

Yes, this is the time well spent.

Muhaiyaddeen786 [4:38 PM]:

One day Louie's garage was falling apart, the roof started to leak and the rain came in and started to destroy everything in the garage, and Louie said to Bawa,

          "Bawa, what should I do?

And Bawa said,

          "Nothing - everything is fine."

This was very hard for Louie as he was a very responsible person and felt a great responsibility for the maintenance of his garage, and his house, and all of his stuff.

But every time Louie asked Bawa what to do, Bawa kept on saying,

          "Nothing - everything is Ok"

Muhaiyaddeen786 [4:40 PM]:

This went on for months and months, until finally Louie gave up his garage to Bawa, and made it His responsibility, not just in words but with my gut, because that is where Louie was really living, in his stomach.

Muhaiyaddeen786 [4:41 PM]:

Finally, after 6 months Louie had completely forgotten about his garage and all of the stuff in it.  Then one day Bawa said to Louie.

"Now we must fix up the garage, and put it to some use".

Within a few month the garage was completely repaired and turned over to one of the fellowship boys for use as a wood shop, which literally saved his life.

Then Louie asked Bawa what was the point, and Bawa said,

"Like the garage, you must let your whole life fall apart (as you know it)
and let it be my responsibility (as I know it), you must be done with it, and
completely forget it.  Then and only then can I put it to some use".

This is how it must work, Bawa can only work on us when we are done with us, when we let it all fall apart (as we know it).  Only then can He solve the problem of us.

For as Bawa teaches us,

"The Shaikh has to continually test the child.  He must test every quality of the
child, prodding him to see his reaction.  With each word and every action , the
Shaikh pricks the child to see how he will react."

"If the reaction is good, then the Shaikh takes that child deeper into Himself,
          saying,

'This child will turn our right'".

Do you understand, my sweet sister Rumi?

Muhaiyaddeen786 [4:46 PM]:

Our life is not our accomplishments, even on the path, it is getting pulled deeper and deeper into God.

But God can only pull us in, when we have given up holding onto the world of illusion that is our life.  We must make light of ourselves, of what we are, of what we do, of what we think, of everything.  It is all false, it is all ok, it is all over, what is next.
                                                                                                                        - go to outline
6. Learn To Become Peaceful
                                                                                                                        - go to summary
Rumismith [4:49 PM]:

Yes, what a beautiful point. I have been thinking about this lately and realized that I cannot truly (say), from the depth of my heart, " I am done with this life, take it, finish it".

Muhaiyaddeen786 [4:51 PM]:

My love you Rumi.  You are a very, very good child.  We all need to treat ourselves, and what happens to us, in a much less serious way, and treat Bawa, and what He is doing within us, in a much more serious way.

What you said is Ok.  Remember, we cannot do any of this, any of what needs to be done, but God can.  So it is like waiting for the cake to rise.  Getting upset with the cake isn't going to make it rise any faster, is it?

Muhaiyaddeen786 [4:54 PM]:

So getting upset with ourselves is like getting upset with the cake.  It is exactly the same.  And the result is exactly the same.

Become peaceful by realizing that everything is Ok, and when the thought comes otherwise, say "Bawa - help me", and He will.  In this way, let these negative thoughts come again, and again, and again, and each time they come do the same thing, say, "Bawa - help me."  There is nothing else to do.

Muhaiyaddeen786 [4:55 PM]:

Only God is Great.  Our life has to become the living affirmation of Al-hamdu lillah and
Allahu Akbar.
That is why we have a life, to affirm God and deny everything else.
                                                                                                                        - go to outline
7.  Make God's Intention Our Search
                                                                                                                        - go to summary
Rumismith [4:55 PM]:

True, Allahu Akbar.  It has to do with intention, what should I intend? I think you answered my question.

Muhaiyaddeen786 [4:58 PM]:

Bawa teaches us that we must "Make God's intention our search".  So in each thing, hand it to God, with the intention that God do with it what is His intention (for it), not ours.

So, we don't intend anything.  We give up "intending", as we give up "doing", as we give up "thinking", as we give up "knowing".  We hand everything that God has handed to us, which is everything that comes before us, back to God, with the intention that it belongs to Him, and with the faith, certitude, and determination that He will do with it what needs to be done with it.

In this way, we get out of the loop, and put God into the loop, in everything.  That is how we walk back to God, by getting God to walk back to God for us.

Muhaiyaddeen786 [5:00 PM]:

That is how we pray, by getting God to pray.  That is how we overcome all of the things within us that need to be overcome, by getting God to do this work (because only God can do this work within us).

Rumismith [5:01 PM]:

These beautiful words are melting my heart, what can I say?
                                                                                                                        - go to outline
8.  Getting Our Mind To Sit Down
                                                                                                                        - go to summary
Muhaiyaddeen786 [5:01 PM]:

Al hamdu lillah.

And God will do it, if we just stop trying to do it separate from God, if we just stop making it our work, preventing Him in this way, from bringing our life to completion within Him.

Muhaiyaddeen786 [5:02 PM]:

It is very simple, but our mind and desire make it difficult, and literally impossible, because they transfer what God has to do, to us, and since we can't do it, we fail, and fail, and fail, getting more and more sick in the process, more and more distant from God, who is the only cure for all of our sicknesses.

Muhaiyaddeen786 [5:04 PM]:

But instead, say "no" to Rumi and "yes" to God, "no" to Rumi and "yes" to God.  That is how we make it through the night, that is how we walk, that is how we talk, we learn, we know, and we accomplish, by letting God do it, by making it His problem, by refusing to let it be our problem, as separate from God, as separate from each other, or as separate from the Creation of God, because in truth we are all One.

Because in truth we are the One problem, and the One solution, and that One problem is God's problem, not ours as separate from God, and that One solution is God.

Our work is to realize this, and in everything give it to God, give the One problem, to the only One who can solve it, which is God.  This is how we become peaceful, by gradually settling back into God through the realization that everything is perfect, because God is in charge, and God can do anything, so whatever needs to be done will be done by God - guaranteed.

Muhaiyaddeen786 [5:06 PM]:

Then our mind will sit down.  This is Bawa functioning within you.  This is your wisdom speaking to you, when you act in that way, when you treat Rumi in that way, when you treat your thoughts in that way, that is your wisdom, when you put God first, that is your wisdom way.

Muhaiyaddeen786 [5:06 PM]:

Al-hamdu lillah.  Allahu Akbar.  My love you my sweet sister Rumi.

Rumismith [5:07 PM]:

Yes, it is our negative thoughts, when the heart closes, when we see someone we have an issue with etc.  We prevent God from being there. God willing, next time when this happens I will be able to say, "no" to Rumi, but "yes" to God.
